The Cheam Yellow Boarders Why We’re Here Every Sunday
You may have seen us in Cheam Village on a Sunday — or perhaps you haven’t. For a few years now, a small, dedicated group of local residents has been gathering each week for what we call an “outreach” (not a protest).
It's also worth highlighting the amasing sister Yellow Board group active in Carshalton. Though their yellow boards differ, they share a kindred ethos — and we support and attend one another's outreach wherever we can.
Why We Do It
Our aim is simple: to raise awareness about what’s happening in the world and to encourage people to question mainstream narratives. We use our Yellow Boards to display a range of thought-provoking messages designed to get people thinking, reflecting, and talking.
How We Started
Like many, our journey began during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our group formed through the Stand In The Park movement. This was a vital lifeline for like minded people to meet and discuss the lies and manipulation that became clear to us during the pandemic.
We used to meet in Nonsuch Park every Sunday morning, but as time went on and the scale of the agendas against us became clear, we felt the need to do more than simply talk amongst ourselves. We wanted to become more visible — to get local people thinking, and to show anyone feeling isolated in their views that they are not alone, and that others also think differently to the mainstream.
Sharing Alternative Perspectives
Each week, we also share copies of The Light Paper — a free publication that offers perspectives rarely, if ever, heard on mainstream outlets such as the BBC (“British Brainwashing Corporation”). You might not agree with everything The Light prints — but then, do you always agree with every news outlet? The point is to think critically, explore different viewpoints, and recognise that there may be more than one side to every story.
Our Mission and Spirit
This blog is an extension of that same mission — a way to bring our Yellow Board message online, to perhaps answer questions local residents may have who wonder why we’re out there each Sunday between 1:30 pm and 3 pm.
Everything we do is self-funded. We design and print our own boards, pay for the papers ourselves, and receive no support from corporations, sponsors, or political parties. We’re just ordinary people who care deeply about the direction our society is heading.
Love us or disagree with us — we stand here as fellow residents who are genuinely concerned about the state of our world and the multiple agendas shaping it. If you’re curious, we invite you to stop by and have a respectful conversation. You’ll find that we’re open-minded, friendly, and sincere in our intentions.
If you're already aware of the issues at hand, we invite you to stand with us. Hold a Yellow Board that resonates with you, hand out newspapers or talk to passers by. The more people we have present, the stronger our collective impact. We are always there on Sundays between 1:30pm and 3pm. Be active, not passive. Be the change, not just someone who is being changed...
Above all, we encourage everyone to avoid falling into the trap of “divide and rule” — the mindset of “I’m right, they’re wrong.” Instead, seek understanding, be respectful, listen, and think for yourself.
It’s time to wake up, stand tall, and protect our freedoms — for ourselves, and for future generations.
Love and peace to all,
The Cheam Yellow Boarders
